The Department of Political Science is one of the largest in the College of Liberal Arts, with approximately 900 undergraduate majors, more than 50 graduate students, and a faculty of 38 tenured or tenure-track faculty members. Our faculty includes some of most widely cited scholars in a diverse array of specialty areas of Political Science. Numerous faculty in the Department have served in leadership positions in professional associations, as editors of leading academic journals, and as advisors to governments and other policy-making organizations. These faculty members share two primary goals: to train outstanding doctoral-level research scientists and practitioners, and to provide an undergraduate education that encourages critical thinking, a broad intellectual perspective, and life-long learning.
