Timm Betz is an Assistant Professor of political science. His research covers international relations, political economy, and political methodology. His research focuses on the relationship between domestic politics and international relations. Specifically, he is interested in how the use of international institutions is motivated by, and affects, domestic political concerns. He is currently working on three projects: the role of domestic and international institutions in trade politics; the use of institutions as hands-tying mechanisms; and, the negotiation and design of international relations.
